TJ Junkie Swap - Just One

Went to my mail box yesterday and received this beautiful card and just had to share (with the creators permission)  Denise Taylor.  I have joined "Just One" swap in which you pick a technique and make just one  swap card.  I have been so super pleased with the creations I have received the last 3 months (which is how long I have been playing), and this one is from New Zealand.  Denise shared a little bit about the weather in New Zealand - and they are experiencing a "breath of winter".  I don't have any details about what stamp was used etc. but the technique was waxy cuttlebug.  By being in this swap it has made me go back through some of my "old" techniques and bring them to life again.

My husband is Mr. Handyman and can do just about anything around the house, yard and yes even my craft room.  When this set came out new for May I knew i would use it more than once!!!   He is putting the final seal coat on a pair of end table he has made me (pics to follow), is working on a grave marker for our kitty Tom that passed this spring, and can fix just about anything in my craft room that I need fixed!!  and yes he has even helped me get ready for craft shows bu applying glitter on dominoes, and stamping tiles.  This being said this will be for him just because I appreciate everything he can do!!

I needed a "cute" card this week and I thought of the Cherry Nice Mice from Doodle Pantry - and he was so much fun to work with.  I printed off the outline version and colored him with my colored Prisma pencils and OMS, looked at my DPs and found this cherry paper and knew that was what I was going to use.  I love the red/orange combination together and I think my "teen" will like this sweet card.  Challenges:

Is this image not absolutely darling and it is from Mabelle at Whimsy and Stars Studio and how much fun it was to paperpiece and color with copic markers.  Once I started putting the card together I just couldn't stop with just one embellishment - the ideas kept flowing and well here is the finished card.  It will go out in May for sure as May DP is my bg paper and was fun to use in this creation.

Two posts in one day - I seldom (ok never) make 2 in one day but I had a post that I simply forgot about doing so as the saying goes "better late than never".  Doodle is offering 3 yes 3 sets of sentiments and they are absolutely FREE from May 15 thru May 19  so you still have 3+ more days to go nab these sentiments.

May 16, 2013 Cushioned in Comfort

AMuse Stamps, Basic Grey DP, SU craft white ink pad, Memento black ink, Bazzill cs, TAC Crackle stamp.

Every month for the last 3 months Technique Junkie has had a "just one swap" and this was my creation for this months swap.  I usedf "Antique Wallpaper" technique and I love how it turned out with the "vintage" feel - you can't see the aged look to the wallpaper but you stamp using white ink and a crackle stamp and stamp that on your background piece.  I liked it so well I made one for my stash.  

May 13, 2013 Mud Piggy

Love this Mud Piggy and it was one of the first images I bought when I discovered Doodle Pantry Images.  My chemo patient loves pigs and collects "stuffed" piggies so of course this was the perfect image to put on her card to go with a little pig that I included in a padded envie to her this week.  Also this month Laurie designed some fun pinwheels and I thought it would would go perfect as an embellishment on my Mud Piggy card.  I choose to make the pinwheel from a piece of leftover DP that comes with this image.  A few brads and my card was ready to go in the mail.

May 8, 2013 Toy truck Ants

Is this truck not the best for a little boy - or a big boy for that fact.  It is from Doodle Pantry and is called Toy Truck Ants and it was just perfect for a request for a little guy that is having challenges with his chemo therapy so I immediately thought of this set.  Love love love the dp that comes with this set as well as the sentiments.  I remembered I had some photo turns that I thought would be great color and it worked perfect.     

A coloring book, a box of new colors and this card are on their way.  Challenges:

Last week my friend Cheryl came over for a "stamp" day and I asked her to bring one of her stamp sets with her called Dress Up from TAC - she said I could keep it for a while so I have been having fun dressing up the little girl.  As a lot of you know I have a little chemo girl and this one will be for her and I bet she likes to play dress up so it will be perfect.  I know I had a lot of fun on our stamp day and also coloring and dressing this little sweetie up.  This is one of TAC's stamp set that I either didn't have or didn't keep and wish I had.

May 1, 2013 Handy Bird

May 1 and NEW RELEASE day over at Doodle Pantry and for my release I choose the Handy Birdie.  I "found" a couple of these file folder cards while looking for something else and I knew exactly what I was going to do with it.  My granddaughter/Husband are wanting to start their new home this coming fall so I thought this was the perfect card to send to them because the inside has a gift card (die from AMUSE Studio) that I am sure he can buy a couple of much needed tools. What a good time to shop as everything (except gift certificates) are 25% off from May 1 thru May 6 so if there is something special you have been eyeing or say how about Handy Bird now is the time.
