June 30, 2016 - Hang in There

Loved the sketch on Sketch Saturday this week so my friend Donna had stamped a few of this cute Great Impressions image  of these up for me.  I think he is adorable and we get so many requests in Chemo Angels and people like dogs so I thought this was really a cute image.  I followed the sketch here:

When I was at my friend Patti's last week we played a little with foiling and she applied the foil with score tape so I already had my background ready to go for this image. And for my perfect layers I have been using the Perfect Layers ruler - and now that I know a couple of secrets I am loving it.

Challenge:

Craft your passion - anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - anything goes

June 29, 2016 ANYTHING GOES at HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Went a bit crazy fun with the glitter this week - ok maybe a lot of crazy fun.  This week over at The House that Stamps Built  it is the 5th Wednesday of the month and that gives us a green light for ANYTHING GOES - well I was getting some 4th of July cards ready to go to my Chemo buddies and family and this idea just popped into my head and it worked.  Love the Dragonfly Deco 4405-K and the Happy Summer 9003-E that I used for this holiday summer holiday.  I had an Art Deco glitter set from "many" years ago - so got it out and started playing with some different glitter colors - got the dragonfly the way I wanted it but then what????  Score tape to the rescue - three strips three widths and 3 glitters - and the card was designed.  Needed a little patriotic touch so punched tiny stars and glue those around the butterfly.  What a fun - but a bit messy card to make.

Hoping you will create a card over at The House that Stamps Built.  You don't have to use a REPEAT IMPRESSIONS stamp but if you do you will an additional entry in the random drawing drawing for a a $25  REPEAT IMPRESSIONS gift certificate.  HINT:  Take a look over on my side bar and you will see a 10% discount on REPEAT IMPRESSIONS STAMPS.  We would love to see your creation.
Now go take a peek at what our Design Team teammates have created for this weeks challenge.

June 27, 2016 - Happy Birthday Double Z fold

Got to spend some fun time with my friend Patti J on Friday - and this is one of our new cards we made.  We both follow an amazing SU Dawn demonstrator who does great step by step tutorials so we made this card which is called a Double Z fold.  It opens like I have it for display but the nice part is it folds nicely for an A2 size envelope.

We used Unity stamps some DP and love the burlap flower that Patti had for the front of my card.  Always need birthday cards so this one will be in the mail in the days ahead.  Fun card to make and fun time with a good friend, plus homemade muffins, coffee, homemade chicken salad for lunch and cheesecake for the afternoon slump.

June 22, 2016 THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

GOOD MORNING

This is the 4th Wednesday of the month and that means "SKETCH CHALLENGE" over at The House that Stamps Built.  I used a water color wash on water color paper - waited for it to dry (important step) then stamped the cups directly on the circles that I cut with spellbinders dies.  I stamped the flowered cup again on opposite colors, fussy cut the flowers, took my hole punch and punched out the flower centers and glued them down.  I have a stencil that I use a lot and sponged orange and blue "rings" for my background.

The set I used from REPEAT IMPRESSIONS is Thanks a latte 9303P and it worked very nicely for this sketch.  I also turned the sketch and made this:

Same sketch turned the opposite way - same stamp set and for the background I used a new folder that has latte/frappe cups embossed.  My friend Diane had used this on one of her cards and I knew it was going to my collection of embossing folders.  I always need a thank you card in my collection.

June 20, 2016 Picnic Peguin

Another darling digi image from Gerda Steiner  called picnic penguin and he was so much fun to color up and work with in creating a fun whimsical summer card.  Had to put a few ants in the grass - did you ever have a picnic without ants???  Colored with copic markers, cut with Spellbinders dies and then the card itself was cut from Kraft cs  and made into the base card.  Entering this into Gerda Steiners monthly challenge here .  Enter her monthly progressive challenge once and she will send you a "free" digi image for the next monthly challenge.

June 18, 2016 Rectangle and Marquee Release

GOOD MORNING

This 104 series is our final "new" releases that I hope you have enjoyed seeing the past few weeks.  This series is rectangles and marquees in two different sizes.  What fun I had playing with this newest set.  Below you will see what I created with them:

For this card I used REPEAT IMPRESSIONS stamps Binocular 2919I  boot prints 2720G and 2721G from Scenic and  the sentiment from Travel  5806H.  Since this was a more masculine theme I used some pin stripes and then I played with a new die set I just got from Tim Holtz.  Added just 1 bling to the bottom.

I had just gone through my buttons recently and sort of organized them by color and when I saw this stamp Cute as a button 4126G from Babies I knew I had a card.  Easy Peasy but love how it out.

Please join us at The House That Stamps Built this week as we celebrate another new release in Repeat Impressions' online store. This latest stamp series is called Frames - Rectangle & Marquee. June 15, 2016 Photo Inspiration REPEAT IMPRESSIONS

.This week is our PHOTO INSPIRATION week over at The House that Stamps Built - isn't he a charmer???  I had recently gotten a few new stamps from REPEAT IMPRESSIONS and decided to use this guy for my creation this week.

I made my own wood grain background using Elmer's glue and Ranger distress inks.  Then I decided to use 2411K Pelicans Piling and 3412C Gulls in flight - and the saying Little Fish from Containers
which I thought this guy was looking for the Big fish.  Did a little embellishing with some marine rope and frayed it a bit and then added a tiny shell on the corner.  I think this makes a really cool guy card for just about any occasion.

Hoping you will create a card using our photo inspiration to enter our challenge over at
The House that Stamps Built.  You don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will get an added bonus of an additional entry in the random drawing for a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate. HINT - take a peek over on my side bar and you will see a 10% discount on Repeat Impressions stamps.  We would love to see you create something.

Now why not go check out my DT team mates and see what they have created.

June 8, 2016 - More than One Stamp - REPEAT IMPRESSIONS

GOOD MORNING

This Wednesday is designer pick and our Rock Star Deonna choose "use 2 or more stamps".

I need 3 Fathers Day cards - so my card this week is for my "grandson - in - law.  He is such a good husband for my granddaughter and a super great Daddy to his two beautiful babies.

I used 2905G canoeing  and 1138E Father's Day  to create a fun scene with the canoe on the water in a peaceful scene.  I did a water color wash for the lake and then put some puffy white clouds in the sky with a cloud stencil.  Bird is a die.  I used a corner fold card which is a fun fold to make.  Added a few scored lines on the bottom of the card for a little added texture.

Hoping you will create a card using our photo inspiration to enter our challenge over at
The House that Stamps Built.  You don't have to use RepeatImpressions stamps but if you do you will get an added bonus of an additional entry in the random drawing for a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate. June 6, 2016 POTW - EMBEDDED EMBOSSING

GOOD MORNING

It is my week to do a tutorial for Project of the Week.  I love doing this technique - it gives a real WOW factor - and "how did you do that" to a card for any occasion.

I used butterflies from the summer collection Lg. Butterfly 9001L Sm. Butterfly 9009F and sentiment is 9005E FlutterBy  from REPEAT IMPRESSIONS .

Stamp butterflies or image that is fairly easy to cut out on a scrap of white cs.  Color with coloring medium of choice.
Stamp butterflies on white cardstock - then you don't have to cut the antennas of the butterflies our.  Fussy cut your colored butterflies
Glue colored image on top of the stamped image, stamp your sentiment.
Run the white cs with butterflies glued on and sentiment stamped.  I used the Swiss Dot Embossing Folder
Layer on black cs then on A2 card - add bling if you wish.

June 1, 2016 REPEAT IMPRESSIONS Color Challenge

It is June 1, and it is the first Wednesday of the month so....this means Color Challenge over at THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT.  Our color challenge was blue/yellow/ and white.

ALERT - I have 2 posts today so go check out the other blog post.

This is really "out of the box" for me - no layers, no DP, no bling.  But I do like the way it turned out love the blue and yellow on the white using the FLOWER POWER SEPARATES flower 10305F and the sentiment again in blue and yellow from the Hello series 9900.  Had some bakers twine in blue and yellow - tied a bow and card done.

Hoping you will create a card using our color challenge to enter our challenge over at
The House that Stamps Built.  You don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will get an added bonus of an additional entry in the random drawing for a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate. After you have done the hop make a creation to share with us at HOC blog and you will have another chance to win.

This is our photo inspiration we used to make our creations  aren't the colors stunning?

Here is my card using a beautiful digi image from MHKD Designs - Simple Rose

I colored this beautiful rose using Wink of Stella brushes - cut the image using spellbinders die cuts. I added some clear gloss and a fine tip applicator to make the dew drops on the rose.   I still thought it needed a bit more - and I remember I had a small cross charm which I used a narrow pink ribbon with the cross attached.  Made this into a square easel card using some "bling" and a die cut word FAITH.

By commenting on everyone's blog along the way our first prize give away is 3 free products from MHK Designs.

For my second card for this great blog hop I used an image from  A Day for Daisies- Hepbern Dress. I loved the simple flowing dress of this digi image - and again colored it using my wink of Stella pen.

I loved how I was able to get some shading using the Wink of Stella red glitter brush and thinning it out with the clear Wink Of Stella brush.  Since this was more of an "elegant" card I used a pink sheer bow tied at the corner and a bit of bling and a few sequins.  The sentiment is from a retired TAC set that I have continued to hang on to.  The prize from A Day for Daisies is three digis - just follow the hop and comment on each one for a chance to win 3 free digis

And from Reverse Confetti there is a $25 gift certificate.

You should have arrived to my blog from Shawna's blog and to follow the blog hop you are directed to go to Stephanie's blog.

So good luck and HAVE FUN on this blog hop.  You will meet some very creative and beautiful DT members and enjoy.
